Rhonda Spears Bell is the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at the National Urban League. In this capacity as the chief marketing and communications officer, Ms. Bell is responsible for the strategic development and execution of all marketing and interactive strategies, public relations, major conferences and events, and publications activities, as well as solidifying the League’s brand identity nationwide.

Ms. Bell is a proven communications and marketing executive with more than 20 years of experience in various areas including: strategic planning, public relations, media relations, internal communications, crisis communications, brand marketing, web design and content management, television and radio production, special events, government relations and community relations.

Immediately prior to joining the National Urban League, Ms. Bell was the founder and principal of RSB Marketing Group, a full service public relations and marketing firm based in Atlanta, GA that offers strategic communications and marketing strategies for national corporations, government-related agencies, non-profit organizations, and public figures.

A recognized communications expert, Ms. Bell is a recurring guest lecturer on the topic “Mayors in the Media” for the New Mayors School at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics. Prior to establishing RSB Marketing Group, Ms. Bell served as the Director of Communications and Marketing at The United States Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C., the official non-partisan organization representing the nation’s mayors and cities.

Ms. Bell also served as the Director of Communications and Press Secretary for former New Orleans Mayor Marc H. Morial (1998-2002), who is currently the President and CEO of the National Urban League. In this capacity, Ms. Bell served as a senior advisor to the Mayor and also managed media relations, public relations, crisis management, and all promotional operations and special projects including Presidential visits, Super Bowl XXXI, ESSENCE Music Festival and Mardi Gras for the City of New Orleans and the Mayor.

A graduate of Clark Atlanta University, Ms. Bell began her career in communications as a television producer and Public Affairs Coordinator at WSB-TV (an ABC affiliate) in Atlanta, Georgia.
