Press Call: UnidosUS and National Urban League to Address Disastrous Impact of GOP Tax Bill on Communities of Color
WASHINGTON, DC (December 15, 2017) – UnidosUS (formerly NCLR) President and CEO Janet Murguía and Marc Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League, will host a telephonic press briefing this Monday, December 18, at 11:30 a.m. ET to discuss the devastating impact and long-term consequences that await millions of hardworking families and their children if the Senate passes the GOP sponsored tax plan.
The bill attempts to jeopardize the economic footing of millions of Americans to fund massive tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. Between deep cuts to critical programs that have helped lift families out of poverty and obtain access to health coverage, to irresponsible tax cuts that would explode the deficit—the GOP tax plan is just another attempt from the Republican-led Congress to undermine the future progress of our most vulnerable communities—particularly our children.
Interested media should RSVP to Gabriela Gomez at ggomez@unidosus.org or (202) 776-1732.
