NEW YORK (October 17, 2016) -- Ronald Marlow, former Massachusetts Undersecretary for Workforce Development, has been named Vice President for Workforce Development at the National Urban League.
National Urban League President and CEO Marc H. Morial said, “Mr. Marlow was instrumental in the creation of the Massachusetts Workforce Skills Cabinet, an innovative alliance among commonwealth agencies to strengthen the pipeline to employment and search for finding ways to help job-seekers acquire the skills they need to fill the jobs that exist in the Commonwealth, and to match employers with qualified workers.
“He also spearheaded the commonwealth’s Task Force on Persons Facing Chronically High Rates of Unemployment, which examines reasons for the higher unemployment rates among specific populations, and develops ways to improve economic opportunities,” Morial said. “His impressive experience and expertise make him uniquely qualified to help lead our effective workforce development division. ”
Prior to his service in Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick’s administration, Marlow was the Chief Operating Officer for the Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation and served as Chief of Staff to Massachusetts State Senator Dianne Wilkerson.
An alumnus of Penn State University, Marlow is currently pursuing a PhD in Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts.
