Washington, DC  -- A broad coalition of civil rights, social justice and faith-based organizations, and groups representing communities of color today declared a “state of emergency” on voting rights in the U.S. and said that millions of people could be disenfranchised by restrictive voter laws.  
 

Washington, DC  (September 14, 2012) – The National Urban League today applauded the Federal Reserve’s latest round of quantitative easing that aims to prevent the weak recovery from getting any weaker, but warned that congressional action also is needed to create real and sustainable growth.

NEW YORK (August 21, 2012) -- National Urban League president and CEO Marc H. Morial today asked Nike to abandon plans to release a $315 basketball shoe, and implored parents not to spend scarce resources on an empty status symbol.
 
To release such an outrageously overpriced product while the nation is struggling to overcome an unemployment crisis is insensitive at best," Morial said. "It represents twisted priorities and confused values."  Invoking Nike's advertising slogan, Morial urged parents and the company, "Just don't do it."
