The Atlanta Braves Heritage Weekend, hosted by the Braves and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, celebrates those who have made a significant impact in freedom and equality for all people, both domestically and internationally.
Morial, who was honored for his unwavering commitment to social justice, served as a panelist for the Champions for Justice Panel Discussion
Past recipients of this high honor include Ambassador Andrew Young, Congressman John Lewis, Vivian Stringer, Jackie Joyner Kersee, Edwin Moses, Bernard Lafayette, Senator Leroy Johnson and C.T. Vivian.
Atlanta Braves Heritage Weekend highlights the Braves’ partnership with the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, a cultural institution in Atlanta that tells the story of courageous individuals who took a stand for justice during the Civil Rights Movement. The Center also serves as a ground for exploration for younger generations to understand the human rights struggles of today, and how their role to make a difference as global citizens is vital for equality for all.
