National Urban League President Marc H. Morial sent a letter to 20 U.S. Senators calling for an up-or-down vote on the confirmation of Rep. Mel Watt as the Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA).
In the letter, Morial calls Rep. Watts “an advocate for homeowners and banks alike.” Citing Rep. Watts’ 40-years of experience in housing and finance, his history of promoting safe and affordable housing and speaking out against predatory lending, Morial concludes that Watt "is the man for the job.’
