Washington, DC (September 12, 2018)– The National Urban League in partnership with the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation will host a 2020 Census Black Roundtable on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Google, 25 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 9thFloor.
The purpose of the Roundtable is to:
- Engage roundtable participants and Census representatives on the 2020 Census, including the challenges of conducting an accurate count of the Black population
- Learn Census operations and strategies to improve the Black population count and reduce an undercount
- Discuss media strategies to address the Black count with Census Integrated Communications Campaign contractor, Young & Rubicam
- Hear updates from Roundtable participants on Census litigation and redistricting
- Discuss social media intervention and advocacy strategies to fortify organizations during the 2020 Census
