Washington, DC – The following is a statement by leading national health, equity, and civil rights groups, joining together as America Healing grantees of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, in response to the shooting at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin that left six people dead, three in critical condition, and many injured on August 5, 2012.
Washington, DC (August 1, 2012) – National Urban League (www.nul.org) President and CEO Marc H. Morial has applauded President Barack Obama’s creation of the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African-Americans, calling it “an important endeavor that will highlight the barriers and challenges to African-American educational achievement, and develop solutions to improve outcomes.”
